After the success of the first version of Subir-Fotos.com ("upload-photos.com" in English), I decided to create a second version that would add more features while keeping the core functionality of the original site.
The main addition in this version was user registration. Users could now create accounts, manage their uploaded pictures, and even create photo albums, but with a catch: all the pictures you would upload were private unless you paid with an SMS to have a premium user, in which case you would be able to make your pictures public in the sections of the site (landscapes, art, etc), upload multiple ones at the same time, and create albums (I am kinda guessing which perks you would have been able to get by paying via SMS, as I don't really remember at this point).
Interestingly, the catch also had a catch: since I had absolutely no idea what I was doing (I was a slow sixteen-year-old), you could actually "turn" your user into a premium one for free by changing a parameter value in the URL, which many users did. Needless to say, as this was the level of "engineering" involved, the nerdy readers might already be able to guess how passwords were stored in the database (yes, it was plain text).
This version was eventually superseded by the V3, which brought a fresh design and some further improvements to the site. Unfortunately, that would be the last ever version, as allowing users to post public pictures didn't turn out to be the best of ideas...
